CHEF. WRITER. CREATOR OF
BUTTER CULT!
my mission
I believe success in the kitchen starts and ends with confidence. My mission with Butter Cult is to empower you to trust your instincts, own your skills, and cook like you mean it! Whether you're slicing and dicing like a pro, frying up fish with flair, or showing the world that grilling is your love language.
I’m here to take you from kitchen shy to quietly confident (or loudly confident). Using humor, hands-on learning, and a focus on growth. I encourage you to experiment, embrace mistakes, and enjoy every step of the process! (So what if you forgot to add the sugar into that batch of cookies, you will get ‘em next time!) Because in my kitchen, it’s not about perfection—it’s about showing up, trying something new, and building confidence one roast chicken at a time.
Experience
I have held almost every position possible in the food service industry, both back and front of the house, baby! I am talking almost 20+ years of experience that goes beyond just working the line like a bee on steroids (got to build the hive). This includes working as a culinary assistant for a traveling TV show called Scraps, recipe testing and development for brands and cookbooks, content creation, and education (online and IRL).
With a Fine Art Degree and an affinity for all mouth-watering food, I took my potato sack full of knowledge and founded a boutique catering company specializing in charcuterie platters that brought the drama to the snacking experience for 5+ years, Maven Oak Creative.
I have been featured in The Salt Lake Tribune, Salt Lake Magazine, Canvas Rebel Magazine, and nominated for City Weekly Best Of for my work with Maven Oak Creative.
Butter Cult was built on a solid foundation of HUSTLE culture, but my mission is to help you (you and I) chill out in the kitchen a bit and learn a few things. It’s all about confidence and education, oh, and cats.
Hey, I’m Nicole,
Teaching essential kitchen skills that make cooking less scary, more fun, and a whole lot tastier—from wielding a knife without losing a finger to making dinner that doesn’t taste like despair.
I crave adventures, drool over a perfectly cooked steak, and thrive on millennial jokes. I have spent most of my adult life traveling and living in Salt Lake, Seattle, New York City, and in an RV cruising around the country.

I seek out mountains and beignets in the summertime and crave a tipple of scotch and dark chocolate in the winter🖤
I've eaten my way through many countries, but one thing I crave the most is coming home to my rascal ginger tabby cat named Cheddar Jack.
Cheers,
